Thank You

Thank You

We would like to thank Kelli for entering a photo of her rescue dogs into Kuranda's Dog of the Week photo contest and for choosing VPAS as the organization to benefit from the dog bed that she won. This dog bed will be donated to Sophia, a new dog in our adoption program who is recovering from surgery. Thank you for thinking of us Kelli!

Little Tripod first arrived at VPAS at 10 weeks of age with a badly broken leg and shoulder. After surgery to amputate his injured leg, and some time in the veterinary hospital battling an infection, Tripod found himself in a foster home. We are very happy to report that Tripod has healed up extremely well from his ordeal and he has no reservations about blasting around his house at full tilt, taunting his new doggy friend. And the good news keeps coming for Tripod. We are very happy to announce that Tripod's foster home has turned into his forever home; he has been adopted!

Happy Holidays

All of the volunteers at VPAS would like to wish everyone a very happy holiday season, and thank all of those who have supported us over the last year. We could not continue to do the great work that we do without the support of our community. Have a wonderful holiday.
Please note that our adoption centre will be closed to the public December 25th and January 1st.

Holiday Adoptions

Holiday Adoptions

For the safety of the animals in our adoption program, pets adopted after December 20th/09 will not be released to their new homes until January 4th/10. Thank you for your understanding and have a safe and happy holiday season.

Kamo is Adopted!

Kamo is Adopted!

It has been almost two months since Kamo came to VPAS with a badly broken jaw and a damaged eye. The vets at Shaw Pet Hospitals repaired Kamo's broken jaw and she is well on her road to recovery.

Kamo has recently gone to a loving foster home where she is working hard to recover from her injuries. Thus far things are going well and Kamo is settling right in to her new digs. Here is a brief update from Kamo's foster mom.

Tripod Update

Tripod Update

Tripod came to us as a tiny stray kitten with a big problem; he has a badly broken leg and shoulder. Tripod's injury is so severe that permanent damage has been caused and he will never regain the use of his leg. Tripod needs to have surgery to have his damaged leg removed, but he needs your help. We are looking for sponsors to help assist with the cost of the surgery that Tripod needs. We are hopeful that once Tripod gets this surgery he will heal quickly and can then be put up for adoption.

Kamo Update

Kamo Update

Kamo first came to VPAS as a stray kitty who had sustained major trauma to her face, leaving her with a badly broken jaw and a damaged eye. She has been in VPAS' care for several weeks now and is doing well.

Kamo has had the surgery that she needed to repair her broken jaw. She is eating with gusto, she is no longer on any medications, and she is gaining back some weight. Kamo is permanently blind in her damaged eye, but at this time it appears as though she'll be able to keep it and does not need to have it removed.

November is Adopt-A-Senior-Pet Month

November is Adopt-A-Senior-Pet Month

Are you thinking of adding a new cat to your family - consider adopting a senior or special-needs pet. During the summer months, young cats and kittens flood local shelters and quickly find homes after winning the hearts of adopters. Unfortunately, senior and special-needs cats get continually over looked and spend many months without any interest from adopters at all. Well now is their chance! VPAS has a few wonderful special pets that are looking for homes in time for Christmas.

PetSmart Adoption Fair

Thank you to everyone who came out to support us at PetSmart's adoption fair Nov 13th-15th. We are pleased to say that we came home with 7 adoption applications for our homeless pets. We hope to see all of them in good homes soon. We would also like to thank PetSmart for hosting this wonderful event.
