A toxic bloom of blue-green algae has invaded Elk Lake, Beaver Lake, and possibly other local lakes such as Durrance and Matheson. The cyanobacteria is toxic to animals and people alike and ingestion left untreated can be fatal. KEEP YOUR DOGS OUT OF THE WATER & OFF OF THE BEACH. If your dog ingests this water seek veterinary care immediately. Death can occur within 12-24 hours if ingestion if not treated immediately.
